The new chapter of Louisville basketball will start on Thursday, March 27.
The University of Louisville has announced that it will have a press conference at 3 p.m. on Thursday “related to the leadership of the men’s basketball program.” Both athletic director Josh Heird and president Kim Schatzel will speak.
Unless something insane occurs in the next 20 hours — which is not impossible considering the last few weeks/years — Louisville will announce that Pat Kelsey will take over as head coach of the men’s basketball program.
Kelsey, a Cincinnati native, has a career head coaching record of 261-122 (68.1%). During his nine seasons at Winthrop, he led the team to four conference titles and two NCAA tournament appearances.
