Gipson-Long pitched for Double-A Erie and Triple-A Toledo last year, making 22 appearances, 19 of which were starts. He finished 8-8 with a 4.33 ERA, a 1.13 WHIP, and 126 strikeouts in 99.2 innings. He made his big-league debut last season on September 10th against the Chicago White Sox, going five innings and giving up two runs on four hits with no walks and five strikeouts. He concluded the season with four starts, finishing 1-0 with a 2.70 ERA, 3.16 FIP, 1.10 WHIP, and 26 strikeouts over 20 innings.
Miguel Diaz played 49 games at Triple-A Toledo, recording a 2-4 record, 5.05 ERA, 1.40 WHIP, and 73 strikeouts in 57 innings. He also pitched for the Tigers, making 12 appearances, three of which were starts, finishing 1-0 with a 0.64 ERA, 2.04 FIP, 0.92 WHIP, and 16 strikeouts over 14 innings. He lasted six seasons in the major leagues, two with the Tigers and four with the Padres. He had 87 appearances, eight of which were starts, and went 6-2 with a 4.84 ERA, a 4.99 FIP, a 1.36 WHIP, and 132 strikeouts in 126.1 innings.
