Breaking News: The Louisville Cardinals Basketball releases schedule for the week

Pat Kelsey has his second commitment as the head coach of the University of Louisville men’s basketball program.

And it’s a second player from his last stop – Charleston.

Freshman forward James Scott, who just entered the transfer portal on Saturday afternoon, has already committed to the Cardinals. The 6-foot-11 Scott appeared in 35 games this past season, averaging 5.0 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks a game.

The Post & Courier newspaper did a story on Scott during the NCAA Tournament earlier this month and quoted an NBA scout raving about Scott.

“His length, his athleticism, his footwork are exactly what NBA teams are looking for nowadays,” the scout told the paper. “That doesn’t mean he could go play in the NBA right now or that he will play in the NBA. He still has a lot of work to do, but if he continues to develop, he’s going to get a shot at the next level.

“He’s a guy that can guard multiple positions and doesn’t seem to be bothered when get gets a matchup against a smaller or quicker guard or forward.”
