Latest Report: Louisville player releases schedule for his wedding this weekend

When quarterback Tyler Shough left Texas Tech and went into the transfer portal after last season, He was looking for many things in a school, including the offensive system, coaching staff, facilities, fit, and opportunity to play for a championship. Shough also asked every school recruiting him if he could be away from campus on April 6.

But it is his wedding day.

Shough has not missed a spring practice and will be at U of L tomorrow before heading to San Diego for the wedding on Saturday. He’ll marry his longtime girlfriend, Jordan Wormdahl, and then will return to Louisville to finish up spring ball. The U of L Spring Game is scheduled for April 19.

“I wasn’t planning on being in college when we made the date, I can tell you that,” Shough said with a laugh.

“I couldn’t do it without my fiance Jordan, she has a lot on her plate,” Shough added. “Handling the load of it, the stress, she’s helped me out with a lot of it, just dealing with all of the wedding stuff. She has been amazing. I would not be here without her guiding me through those injuries and making this unified decision to come here.”

Shough, who will turn 25 in September, will be in his seventh year of college ball in the fall at Louisville. He’s spent time at Oregon and Texas Tech, starting games at both places, throwing for more than 4,500 career yards, and dealing with injuries during three seasons of play.

But Shough said the wedding has been more stressful than any game he’s played.

“When I proposed, I could barely spit out any words,” Shough said. “Obviously, we deal with a lot of complex words in the offense and talking to the media, stuff like that but I was definitely more nervous doing that. Trying to write the vows, and do everything, the whole script for the wedding, and plan all of that is definitely a lot more stressful.

“The fun part is coming into the facility each day and working with all the guys on the football team. That’s the easy part to me.”

Shough said Wormdahl, who played soccer at Oregon, has been a coach and a substitute teacher in Lubbock, Tx. She has her degree in business but wants to be a teacher.

Shough has thrown for 4,625 yards and 36 touchdowns in 27 career games combined at Oregon and Texas Tech, while completing 63.2 percent of his passes. He has also run for 710 yards and 14 TDs during his career. At Texas Tech, Shough started 13 games and went 9-4 as the starter but the injuries kept him from doing more.

Shough is 13-7 overall as a starter in college.
