Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice finds himself embroiled in yet another legal controversy, as reports surface of his alleged involvement in an assault incident.

According to WFAA in Dallas, Rice is under investigation for assaulting a photographer early Monday morning at the address of “Lit Kitchen” on 609 N. Harwood Street.

This latest incident adds to Rice’s already troubled legal situation, which began with a six-vehicle accident in Dallas late March. The 24-year-old receiver is facing eight charges related to the accident, ranging from collision involving bodily injury to aggravated assault.

Rice, a product of North Richland Hills, Texas, made his mark in high school football before committing to Southern Methodist University (SMU) for college football.

His talent didn’t go unnoticed, leading to his selection by the Kansas City Chiefs in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft.

Throughout these legal challenges, the Chiefs have maintained a cautious stance, emphasizing the importance of gathering all pertinent information before taking any action.

Head coach Andy Reid, speaking at the start of the team’s offseason program in mid-April, reiterated the need for thorough examination.

Reid broke his silence on Rice’s situation
“As long as he’s learned from it, that’s the important part of it,” Reid commented on Rice’s situation. “We’ll take it from there and see what takes place. But right now, we’re just gathering everything and trying to make sure we have all the bases covered there.”

Rice’s future with the team remains uncertain as the investigation into the alleged assault progresses.

The Chiefs, known for their zero-tolerance policy regarding off-field misconduct, are expected to make a decision based on the outcome of the investigation and Rice’s response to the charges.
