An underrated part of the Chiefs’ 2018 successes has been coach Andy Reid. This week we get a reminder of just how good he’s been throughout his career.
With a win against the Browns in Cleveland, Reid moved past Dan Reeves to No. 8 in the NFL history books in all-time wins (202).
With four more wins, Reid will pass former Chiefs coach Marty Schottenheimer. If the Chiefs go undefeated for the rest of the regular season or make a deep playoff run he’ll have a chance to tie or pass legendary Steelers coach Chuck Noll.
The crazy thing is that none of these milestones are out of reach for Reid because he’s got the Chiefs offense performing at an all-time great level.
When Reid secured his 200th win earlier this season, he was asked about the matter.
“That’s an individual thing and I’m not real good with that,” he said. “We’re about team and there have been a lot of people involved in each one of those wins that have been crucial.
I’ve been blessed to be around some good people, players and coaches. Ownership has been phenomenal, so I’ve been really blessed to be in a great position to be able to do that.”
I’m sure he’ll echo the same sentiments when it comes to reaching this milestone. Hopefully this year he has the supporting cast to make it back to the Super Bowl and be in the position to secure a victory that would cement him as a future Pro Football Hall of Famer.
