Hunt has come to the defense of Harrison Butker following his controversial commencement speech at Benedictine College. In his address, the Chiefs kicker criticized abortion rights and urged female graduates to prioritize motherhood over professional aspirations.
Butker delivered his speech at the Catholic liberal arts college in Atchison, Kansas, where he decried “degenerate cultural values” and “dangerous gender ideologies.” He also labeled federal diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts as “tyranny” and argued that women have been misled about their future roles.
Affirming motherhood and praising your wife, as well as highlighting the sacrifice and dedication it takes to be a mother, is not bigoted,” Tavia Hunt wrote on Instagram.
“It is empowering to acknowledge that a woman’s hard work in raising children is not in vain.”
“Countless highly educated women devote their lives to nurturing and guiding their children,” she added. “Someone disagreeing with you doesn’t make them hateful; it simply means they have a different opinion. Let’s celebrate families, motherhood and fatherhood.”

The NFL released a statement on Thursday, expressing disagreement with the conservative views presented in Butker‘s speech. During his address, Butker also referred to Taylor Swift as “my teammate’s girlfriend” and accused President Joe Biden of supporting “the murder of innocent babies.”
