Green bay packers kill player was involved in a terrible accident after…
When Malik Heath awoke after 15 minutes of unconsciousness, he began striking himself to ensure he was not paralyzed.
It was December 2, 2021, and Heath was driving a car when an 18-wheeler plowed into the driver’s side door. Heath, then a senior wide receiver at Mississippi State, claimed he was not wearing a seatbelt.
The Clarion-Ledger stated at the time that Heath’s automobile was hit after he crossed the northbound lane of a Mississippi highway to travel south, and that police claimed there was no cause to believe drugs or alcohol were involve.
Heath reported wheezing after exiting the passenger’s side door. He started coughing up blood soon after arriving at the hospital. He claimed that not only did both of his lungs collapse, but he also fractured his entire rib cage and ruptured the liver.
Heath, a 23-year-old undrafted rookie, lost consciousness at a Mississippi hospital and was airlifted to Memphis. He regained consciousness mid-flight and nearly two years later, he regains consciousness and shows a scar below his armpit, where doctors inserted a tube to save his life.
Heath arrived at Ole Miss with one year of eligibility remaining after graduating from Mississippi State, and coach Lane Kiffin sat him down with a straightforward message: this was his last shot.
Heath transferred from Mississippi State University, where, according to reports, he was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, exceeding the speed limit by 20 mph, driving without a license, driving with improper equipment, and driving without proof of insurance all at the same time in 2020.
Heath, a former wideout at Ole Miss, arrived at the school with baggage and no room for mistakes. He was vouched for by Jonathan Mingo, a 2023 second-round pick of the Carolina Panthers, who vouched for Heath but told Kiffin they had to straighten him out off the field. Heath admitted to having anger from his upbringing and that he was just a young guy, fresh out of junior college.
