Baseball, as we all know, is an unpredictable game that doesn’t unfold as expected, including players’ performances and development.

Overall, the pitching staff has been the biggest disappointment this season, posting a 4.50 ERA, the sixth-worst in baseball. Both the starting rotation and the bullpen have contributed to this poor performance.

The Giants anticipated a shaky rotation in the first half of the season but likely didn’t expect it to resemble the previous year’s first half, where they heavily relied on bullpen games. Besides Logan Webb, Jordan Hicks, and Kyle Harrison, the Giants have struggled to get any production from their rotation. They hope the second half will be more promising with the expected return of several starters, including Harrison.
