SHOCKING:Oilers’ Free Agency Move Raises Questions with Veteran Forward Signing. Oilers have extended…

The Edmonton Oilers have extended veteran forward Corey Perry with a one-year contract valued at up to $1.4 million, as announced on Monday, July 1.

Perry’s deal includes a base salary of $1.15 million and up to $250,000 in potential bonuses, potentially enabling him to earn a total of $1.4 million throughout the 2024-25 season.

Nugent-Bowman questioned the Oilers’ decision to sign 39-year-old right winger Corey Perry to a one-year, $1.15 million contract, potentially rising to $1.4 million with bonuses. He highlighted Perry’s limited playoff production of 1 goal and 2 assists in 19 games, during which he was scratched six times and struggled to find a consistent role in the lineup. Despite these factors, Perry received a salary increase, leading the analyst to label the re-signing as “puzzling.”
