LEAFS NEWS:Mitch Marner of the Maple Leafs Open to Trade with Four Teams. Marner going to…
Another day brings yet another report on the ongoing saga between the Toronto Maple Leafs and one of their star forwards.
David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period reported that Mitch Marner would be open to a trade to “four teams,” though he did not specify any potential destinations on June 26.
Pagnotta mentioned that Mitch Marner is open to joining a few teams, although he didn’t specify the exact number. He indicated there are four teams he would consider, but possibly a few more depending on decisions made by Treliving and the staff.
However, Pagnotta also noted that two teams, the Utah Hockey Club and the San Jose Sharks, are not in contention to acquire Marner via trade.
Pagnotta dismissed the Utah Hockey Club as a potential destination for Marner when asked by Leafs Morning Take host Nick Alberga. He mentioned the San Jose Sharks towards the end of the segment.
“When these rumors gain traction with hundreds of retweets or reposts, the Leafs were upset,” Pagnotta responded when asked if the rumor about Marner going to Utah was false. “They were genuinely, genuinely upset. I spoke to a couple of people within the front office, and they were not happy at all about it.”
Regarding the Sharks, Pagnotta expressed skepticism about Marner ending up in San Jose. He believes it’s unlikely that a deal will be worked out with the Sharks where Marner would agree to join them.
