WAR FRONT:Germany’s ‘future Messi’ contends for Euro 2024 Young Player of the Tournament.Musiala, who excels on …
During the 2022 World Cup, Germany captain Lothar Matthaus was full of praise for Musiala, stating, “He [Musiala] can be the (Lionel) Messi of the future, he is excellent. He is 19 years old, doing the things that will make him a top footballer. He has great passing, clever thinking, and a love for football.”
Now 21, Musiala is certainly living up to the hype, having scored 43 goals and provided 31 assists in 163 matches for Bayern Munich. He also became the youngest player to reach 100 appearances for Die Roten.
Musiala, who excels on both flanks or in a central role, has dazzled Bundesliga defenses with his exceptional dribbling skills since his debut in 2020. His remarkable close control often draws in defenders, only for him to slip past them in tight spaces. This was showcased by his second goal in a 5-2 victory over Darmstadt in March, where he skillfully navigated through multiple players before finishing in the bottom right corner.
The German star is also known for his powerful shots, such as his near-post drive against Bochum in February.
With a blend of top-notch finishing, creativity, quick feet, and pace, Musiala possesses all the attributes needed to be a significant attacking threat.
