BREAKING!!!Former F1 boss claims Hamilton is above pressure ahead of monumental move to Ferrari.Guenther Steiner has …
Guenther Steiner has asserted that Lewis Hamilton has “nothing to prove” upon joining Ferrari next season, given his status as a seven-time F1 champion, and that he is “above pressure.”
Hamilton announced before this season that it would be his last with Mercedes, as he prepares to join Ferrari on a multi-year deal to replace Carlos Sainz.
Steiner believes that the move to the Maranello-based team will reignite Hamilton’s passion, following a challenging few years with Mercedes under the current regulations, despite the team providing him with a car that allowed him to break a two-and-a-half-year winless streak at the British Grand Prix.
“I’m pretty sure he still has that hunger, and obviously, going to Ferrari next year will rejuvenate him as well,” Steiner told select media, including RacingNews365.
“I think Lewis is above pressure. Put it this way, he has achieved so much in his life that he has become an icon of the sport.
“But he decided to go there. He’s a seven-time world champion, he has nothing to prove. In my opinion, it will not be him failing Ferrari.
“You know how Ferrari is. They have been trying to win the world championship for so long that I can’t even remember.”
