Watch:Oilers Star Amazingly Raises Over $500k for Charity. Oilers are…

Despite the buzz of free agency and the draft, the NHL and the Edmonton Oilers are in offseason mode. This period allows players a rare opportunity to rest, recover, and enjoy personal pursuits. For some, it’s a time to disconnect and recharge before another demanding season.

For others, it’s a chance to engage more with their communities. A prime example of this is Zach Hyman’s annual golf outing, which brings together multiple NHL players and celebrities to raise thousands for charity.

This year’s event was no different. NHL insider Elliotte Friedman reported that the outing raised nearly half a million dollars. Oilers’ captain and league MVP Connor McDavid was among Hyman’s teammates who participated in the golf outing. McDavid expressed his support for Hyman and the importance of such charitable efforts.

“I’m here to support Zach and his causes,” he told reporters at the event. “He’s a great teammate and a great friend. It’s important to be here and support his initiatives.”
