Due to a string of injuries, the Los Angeles Dodgers’ rotation has been frequently changing, and pitching prospect River Ryan has officially been called up for his MLB debut.

Prior to the All-Star break, the Dodgers confirmed their plans to promote Ryan during the second half of the season, and he will now be joining the rotation.

For the series against the Boston Red Sox, Gavin Stone, Justin Wrobleski, and James Paxton are set to start the games over the weekend. Ryan is scheduled to slot in as the starter on Monday.

“He’s in,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts confirmed about Ryan’s inclusion in the pitching plans for the upcoming series against the San Francisco Giants.

In addition to Ryan, the Dodgers will also have Landon Knack starting, and Tyler Glasnow will make his return to the rotation. Clayton Kershaw is also confirmed to join the rotation next week.

“Knack is definitely in, though the exact day is still to be determined,” Roberts said. “Clayton had a strong outing yesterday, so he will definitely be part of the rotation next week.

“We’re also looking forward to Tyler’s return.”

Glasnow has fully recovered from his “tall man back” injury and is set for his comeback from the 15-day injured list.

Kershaw is ready to return following left shoulder surgery and has completed three rehab starts.

Roberts noted that while Kershaw’s return might not immediately include six-plus innings, the team is confident in his readiness.
