NHRA icon John Force discharged from rehab facility just one month after intense crash.
Drag racing legend John Force is returning home after a month-long stay at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, where he was undergoing treatment for a traumatic brain injury sustained during a high-speed crash at the NHRA Virginia Nationals in late June. John Force Racing revealed that Force has been discharged and is looking forward to sleeping in his own bed once again, following intensive care to address cognitive and behavioral symptoms related to his injury.
“Goodbye Phoenix! After a month, my dad is finally coming home where we’ll continue his outpatient therapy,” shared Brittany Force, fellow NHRA Funny Car driver, in an Instagram update on Tuesday. “The next steps in his recovery will definitely involve the whole family!”
According to John Force’s team, the next stage of his rehabilitation includes outpatient speech therapy, as well as occupational and physical therapy, aimed at addressing remaining short-term memory and cognitive challenges.
