Broberg and Holloway sign with the Blues after the Oilers decline to match their offer sheets.
Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway have signed two-year contracts with the St. Louis Blues after the Edmonton Oilers chose not to match the offer sheets from St. Louis. Broberg’s deal is worth $9.16 million ($4.58 million annual average), which means the Oilers will receive a second-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft as compensation. Holloway’s contract, valued at $4.58 million ($2.29 million AAV), results in a third-round pick being sent to Edmonton.
Broberg, who had limited appearances with the Oilers last season, expressed his enthusiasm for joining the Blues and appreciated his time in Edmonton. Holloway contributed 9 points over 38 regular-season games last season and also expressed excitement about his new opportunity.
In other transactions, the Blues traded defenseman Paul Fischer, a 2023 fifth-round pick, and a 2028 third-round pick to the Oilers for future considerations. The Oilers also recently acquired defenseman Ty Emberson and forward Vasily Podkolzin in separate trades.
