Wigan Warriors ratings: ‘Dynamic’ player stands out as key stars underperform in victory over Hull FC

Wigan Warriors climbed back into the Super League’s top two positions, despite not being at their peak performance level on Sunday afternoon when they defeated Hull FC. Although Matt Peet’s team is still not performing at their best, their 22-4 victory over Hull FC allowed them to equal Hull KR at the top of the table.

With varying levels of performance, here are the Warriors player ratings.

Jai Field: 9

Field was at his dynamic best exactly when needed. Without him on the field, Wigan’s already difficult performance would have been even tougher. He provided two essential try assists early in the game.

Jacob Douglas: 7

Performed well after being given a chance with Abbas Miski rested. Scored a try and nearly added another.

Zach Eckersley: 7

Put in a solid performance from the centre position and continues to look comfortable at this level.

Jake Wardle: 6

Had a quieter game than usual for the England international, but still didn’t make any mistakes.

Liam Marshall: 6

Wore the captain’s armband for his 200th Wigan appearance and contributed well, though his most notable moment was suffering a severe head injury from a clash with Wardle.

Adam Keighran: 6

Did a decent job at half-back, but it’s clear that Wigan would benefit from Bevan French’s return sooner rather than later.
