ECHL: Adirondack Thunder Add Two New Forwards

The Adirondack Thunder have revealed the addition of forwards Patrick Polino and Chase Brand for the 2024-25 season. Polino officially joined the Thunder following a trade of his rights from the Cincinnati Cyclones earlier last week, with Tristan Ashbrook heading to the Cyclones in return. Additional details about Polino and the trade can be found here. Brand is expected to provide valuable depth for the Thunder, capable of playing on either wing but primarily positioned as a center. This versatility suggests he may fulfill various roles under Head Coach Pete MacArthur next season.

“Chase Brand is a high-character individual who will integrate well into our locker room,” said Head Coach Pete MacArthur. “He will provide depth to our forward group, particularly at center ice.”

Brand joins the Thunder after appearing in seven games with the Reading Royals at the end of last season, still seeking his first career point. Before joining the Royals, the 25-year-old forward spent two years in the NAHL and USHL, scoring 16 goals and adding 26 assists for 42 points in 86 games with the Brookings Blizzard. In the USHL, he recorded 18 goals and 36 assists for 54 points in 76 games with the Sioux Falls Stampede, Omaha Lancers, and Madison Capitols. Brand then played five seasons at the NCAA level, tallying 14 goals and 20 assists for 34 points at St. Cloud State University, and finished his eligibility at Augustana University with five goals and seven assists for 12 points in 30 games.
