Chase Rice Tells His Story
Chase Rice is as real as real gets. Whether it’s through music or words, the forthcoming country star isn’t afraid to show off who he is, who he was, and who he thought he should be.
Rice is very open about the trials and tribulations in his life; the biggest being the passing of his father. He recognizes the impact that had on a young boy’s life, but he didn’t let that stop him from emerging victorious in his music career.
With his latest album release Go Down Singin’, Rice has given himself the opportunity to show his fans that this is who he is. In an exclusive interview with Rice, he explained, “The Cowboys record [I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell] wasn’t an experiment. This is who I am; I want them to think ‘Ahh this is just this guy, this is what he does’ and that will turn into something a little different on the next album.”

With his latest album release Go Down Singin’, Rice has given himself the opportunity to show his fans that this is who he is. In an exclusive interview with Rice, he explained, “The Cowboys record [I Hate Cowboys & All Dogs Go To Hell] wasn’t an experiment. This is who I am; I want them to think ‘Ahh this is just this guy, this is what he does’ and that will turn into something a little different on the next album.”
Go Down Singin’ encapsulates Country Music in all its glory, while also detailing the brutal truth of how life can sometimes be. Rice talks about the 11-song cycle being descriptive of “being the man my father always believed I could be.”
In the interview, Rice also described his writing process. He has been keeping a journal since he was 15 years old; a process that has helped him organize his thoughts that later turn into award-winning lyrics.
I love figuring out a good melody for the lyrics that you’re thinking of, like what’s the story saying? And then once you figure out what the song is going to be about, I love finding melodies for that that are just unique and feel like they fit the vibe of the song,” said Rice.
This new album greatly attests to Rice’s storytelling ability. Fans should expect to hear nothing but truth and raw introspection on his new album.
The final thing Rice had to say when thinking about his album and his fans, speaks volumes to his love and dedication to his craft:
“Just listen to music. That’s what it’s about for me…I’ve always had this type of music in me, and it takes you some time to figure out who the hell you are sometimes. But just listen to the music and give it a chance.”
