Robbie Williams is set to release an exciting new album, featuring collaborations with major musical talents, including Black Sabbath’s iconic guitarist, Tony Iommi. This news was shared by Karl Brazil, Robbie’s live musical director, during a conversation on the Percussion Discussion podcast.

In the interview, Karl revealed that he has been working with Robbie on the upcoming project. According to Karl, the album will feature contributions from various artists, and he was fortunate to be involved in creating some of the tracks. One notable collaboration is a song called “Rocket,” which includes Tony Iommi’s legendary guitar work. Karl described the collaboration with Iommi as unexpected but thrilling, saying, “It’s great. It’s a rocker and really cool. Tony has done his thing on it.”

This partnership with Iommi highlights a different side of Robbie’s musical journey, showcasing a more rock-oriented sound. Fans of both artists are likely to be intrigued by how their distinct styles will blend on this track.

But Iommi isn’t the only big name featured on the album. Karl also revealed that Gaz Coombes, frontman of the British rock band Supergrass, has contributed to a song as well. This adds another layer of musical diversity to the album, as Coombes brings his own rock influences and unique style to the project.

Karl went on to describe the album as predominantly guitar-driven, drawing comparisons to Robbie’s earlier solo work from the 1990s, but with modern-day pop influences. He highlighted that the album will tap into the energy of Robbie’s classic sound while also incorporating current trends in music. According to Karl, this blend of old and new will make the album appealing to a wide range of listeners.

As someone who has worked closely with Robbie throughout his career, Karl expressed admiration for the pop star’s ability to evolve and experiment with different genres. “Let’s face it, he can do what he wants. Modern-day Elvis I call him, he’s absolutely bossing top of the tree,” Karl added, praising Robbie’s versatility and dominance in the music industry.

With an album that promises a fusion of guitar-heavy rock and modern pop, and featuring collaborations with iconic figures like Tony Iommi and Gaz Coombes, Robbie Williams’ upcoming release is shaping up to be a standout addition to his impressive discography. Fans of both Williams and the featured artists are surely in for a treat.
