Michael Schumacher’s…revealed after rare public appearance. Read more

Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher now communicates solely through his eyes, according to recent reports following a rare public appearance. The seven-time world champion suffered a devastating skiing accident over a decade ago, resulting in a severe head injury that has left him under constant care and out of the public eye. Despite his family’s strict privacy regarding his condition, some details have surfaced about his current state and method of communication.

Schumacher, now 47, was involved in a tragic skiing accident in the French Alps, where he hit his head on a rock. After the incident, he was placed in a medically induced coma for a significant period. Since then, he has been under the dedicated care of his wife, Corinna, and a team of medical professionals. For years, the Schumacher family has tightly controlled information about his condition, allowing only a few people close to the family to know the full details.

However, Elisabetta Gregoraci, the former partner of ex-F1 team boss Flavio Briatore, revealed that Schumacher can only communicate using his eyes. She shared, “Michael doesn’t speak; he communicates with his eyes. Only three people can visit him, and I know who they are. They moved to Spain, and his wife has set up a hospital in their house.” Gregoraci’s comments, though unverified, offer insight into the difficult circumstances Schumacher and his family face.

Despite Corinna’s meticulous efforts to maintain Schumacher’s privacy, recent reports suggest that the racing icon attended his daughter Gina-Maria’s wedding last weekend. The wedding took place at the family’s lavish villa in Mallorca, Spain, and German media reports claim Schumacher was present at the event. This marks a rare public appearance for the former F1 star, whose condition has remained largely unknown for years.

Although the Schumacher family continues to protect his privacy, the fact that he attended Gina-Maria’s wedding may signal a slight shift in their approach. Guests at the event were reportedly asked to hand over their phones upon arrival, ensuring no images or videos of Schumacher would surface. This step demonstrates the family’s ongoing commitment to shielding Schumacher from public scrutiny, while still allowing him to participate in such an important family milestone.

The racing world continues to hold Schumacher in high regard, even though he has been absent from the sport for more than a decade. His son, Mick Schumacher, recently followed in his father’s footsteps by competing in Formula 1 with the Haas team. The younger Schumacher’s career has inevitably drawn comparisons to his father’s illustrious achievements, but Mick has consistently expressed admiration for his father’s legacy, while charting his own path in the sport.

Jean Todt, Schumacher’s former boss at Ferrari, is one of the few who remains close to the family and occasionally shares insights into Schumacher’s life post-accident. Todt has spoken about the significant changes Schumacher has endured since the accident but has praised Corinna for her unwavering support. In an interview last year, Todt said, “Michael is here, so I don’t miss him. [But he] is simply not the Michael he used to be. He is different and is wonderfully guided by his wife and children.”

Todt, reflecting on their long friendship, acknowledged the difficulties Schumacher faces but also emphasized the strength of the family’s bond. “Unfortunately, fate struck him ten years ago. He is no longer the Michael we knew in Formula 1,” he concluded.

Though Schumacher’s public appearances are scarce, his enduring legacy continues to inspire the racing community and His family alike.
