Daniel Ricciardo Joins New Team After F1 Exit: Motocross Collaboration with Gypsy Tales Podcast

Australian Formula 1 driver Daniel Ricciardo has been spotted with a new ‘team’ following his departure from the racing series. After his performance struggles in 2024, Ricciardo was dropped by Red Bull’s sister team, Visa Cash App RB, following the Singapore Grand Prix. He was replaced by rising talent Liam Lawson, who will race in Ricciardo’s place for the remainder of the season.

Initially, many expected Ricciardo to take over from Sergio Perez at Red Bull due to Perez’s inconsistent performances. However, Ricciardo’s failure to outperform his teammate, Yuki Tsunoda, diminished that possibility. In fact, Tsunoda’s strong and consistent showings for the team earned him a contract extension for the following season, leaving Ricciardo’s future with the team in doubt.

Now, fans and analysts alike are wondering what the 35-year-old might do next. Ricciardo, who has earned a devoted fan base through his engaging personality, was especially well-received by Formula 1’s growing American audience, thanks in part to his appearance on Netflix’s Drive to Survive docu-series. Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has hinted that Ricciardo could pivot to a career in media, whether that be in front of the camera as a presenter or even producing content. In fact, Ricciardo is currently co-producing an F1-themed comedy series called Downforce.

Other reports suggest Ricciardo could continue his racing career outside of Formula 1, with rumors linking him to the Australian Supercars Championship or NASCAR in the United States. Both series would welcome a driver of his caliber and global popularity, but as of now, Ricciardo’s future plans remain unclear.

Recently, however, fans spotted Ricciardo in a different kind of racing environment. Social media videos have shown him with the team from the Gypsy Tales podcast, known for its focus on motocross. One video, in particular, showed Ricciardo wearing racing gear and preparing to ride a motocross bike. The caption read, “team effort @gypsytalespodcast @coreywilson @danielricciardo.”

Ricciardo also appeared on American motocross racer Adam Cianciarulo’s Instagram, where he expressed his excitement about riding pit bikes. Cianciarulo’s post featured a picture of Ricciardo in a racing suit with the caption, “rode pit bikes for 8 hours yesterday, and it was glorious.”

While it’s unclear if Ricciardo’s motocross adventure is a one-time event or a sign of things to come, fans are eagerly awaiting more news about the next chapter in his career.
