Austin, TX – October 18, 2024: Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton has expressed concerns over the difficulty Mercedes is facing with their recent upgrades ahead of the United States Grand Prix. As the team prepares to compete at the Circuit of the Americas, Hamilton revealed that the latest developments in the car may not be enough to close the performance gap with their main rivals.

Describing the situation as “pretty impossible,” Hamilton acknowledged the uphill battle Mercedes faces in trying to implement effective improvements at this stage of the season. With fierce competition from Red Bull and Ferrari, Mercedes has struggled to consistently match the pace of the leading teams, making it a challenge to remain competitive for podium finishes.

Despite the hurdles, Hamilton remains hopeful that his team can optimize the upgrades in time for the race, though he knows the path ahead is steep. The outcome of this weekend’s race in Austin could be crucial as Mercedes fights to secure a strong finish in the constructor’s championship.

The United States Grand Prix kicks off this weekend, with practice sessions beginning on Friday, followed by qualifying on Saturday and the main race on Sunday. All eyes will be on Mercedes to see if their efforts will be enough to challenge for the podium in one of the season’s final races.
