F1 star HUMILIATED after calls for immediate re…read more

Lance Stroll faced intense scrutiny at the Brazilian Grand Prix, with growing calls for Aston Martin to consider a replacement after a challenging and mistake-ridden weekend. The race weekend in São Paulo saw the British team struggle, as neither Stroll nor his teammate, two-time world champion Fernando Alonso, were able to score any points. The troubles began in qualifying, where both drivers crashed, causing significant damage to their cars and leaving Aston Martin’s mechanics with an immense repair job. With only three hours between Sunday morning qualifying and the start of the race, the team worked tirelessly to get both cars ready in time.

However, despite the team’s efforts, Stroll’s race ended before it even began. During the formation lap, he lost control of his car in wet conditions, veering off track and crashing, marking a disappointing and embarrassing moment for the Canadian driver. The incident immediately reignited debate over Stroll’s performance and his place on the team, particularly since his father, Lawrence Stroll, owns Aston Martin Racing. Critics have pointed to Stroll’s lack of achievements since joining F1 in 2017, with only three podium finishes and a current standing of 13th in the drivers’ championship.

The presence of talented young drivers in Aston Martin’s ranks further fuels the conversation about Stroll’s future. One standout option is Felipe Drugovich, the 2022 Formula 2 champion and Brazilian driver who has participated in several practice sessions for the team. During the Brazilian Grand Prix weekend, Drugovich was on hand and nearly required to step in for Alonso, who missed Thursday’s media day due to illness. This proximity heightened interest in the possibility of Drugovich securing a seat, especially with vocal Brazilian fans backing him.

Social media highlighted an awkward moment for Stroll when, after a track error left him near a gravel trap, he attempted to drive through it, ultimately becoming stuck and leaving his car beached. Fans at the circuit responded by chanting Drugovich’s name, underscoring the growing support for the young driver as an alternative to Stroll.

With Stroll’s performance under the microscope, Aston Martin faces pressure to reconsider its lineup. As Drugovich shows promise and the team searches for consistency, calls to give the Brazilian a more prominent role may continue to intensify if Stroll’s struggles persist.
