Buckeyes Take Control Early
Ohio State wasted no time asserting dominance, with quarterback Kyle McCord leading a near-perfect first half. In the fourth quarter, backup quarterback Devin Brown capped the win with a rushing touchdown, making the final score 42-17. Ohio State finished with over 500 total yards of offense, compared to Tennessee’s 290. Henderson rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns, while McCord passed for 312 yards and three scores.
Ohio State’s defense forced three turnovers, including a game-clinching interception by Denzel Burke. Tennessee’s inability to protect Milton or establish a run game proved to be their downfall.

With the win, Ohio State advances to the playoff semifinals. Head coach Ryan Day praised his team’s execution, saying, “We played physical, smart football, and that’s what you need in the playoffs.” Despite the loss, Tennessee coach Josh Heupel expressed pride in his team’s season and is determined to bounce back next year.
