These burglaries often occur while athletes are away for games, with thieves using sophisticated methods to bypass security systems, such as disabling alarms, jamming Wi-Fi signals, and covering security cameras.
The FBI advises athletes to enhance their home security measures, maintain detailed inventories of valuables, and exercise caution when sharing personal information on social media. They recommend avoiding real-time posts about travel plans and refraining from showcasing valuable possessions online.
