Jared Goff led the Detroit Lions to a 42-29 victory over the Seattle Seahawks, marking the Seahawks’ first loss of the season. Goff achieved an NFL milestone by completing all 18 of his pass attempts, the highest number without an incompletion in a game, including two touchdown passes. He also scored his first career receiving touchdown during the match.

“It’s good when the ball doesn’t hit the ground,” Goff remarked to ESPN. “I wasn’t sure [about the record during the game]. I was trying to remember if I had any incomplete passes. I couldn’t quite tell, but I knew I had a chance.”

With this result, both teams are now 3-1 for the season. Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith had a standout performance, throwing for a career-high 395 yards on 38 completions from 56 attempts, along with one touchdown and one interception.

At Ford Field, the Lions took an early lead, finishing the first half at 21-7, with Jahmyr Gibbs scoring twice and David Montgomery adding another touchdown. The Seahawks managed to close the gap in the second half, but Goff responded by connecting with Jameson Williams for a 70-yard touchdown, extending the lead to 35-20 heading into the final quarter.

Kenneth Walker III then rushed for a 21-yard touchdown to bring Seattle within one score. However, Goff quickly answered by finding Amon-Ra St. Brown in the end zone to secure the victory. Earlier in the game, St. Brown executed a trick play, passing to Goff for his touchdown.

With this win, the Lions hold second place in the NFC North, trailing the undefeated Minnesota Vikings, who remain the only team along with the Kansas City Chiefs to maintain a perfect 4-0 record. Meanwhile, the Seahawks retain their top position in the NFC West despite the defeat.

In another game on Monday night, the Tennessee Titans secured their first win of the season, defeating the Miami Dolphins 31-12. Nick Folk contributed significantly with five field goals, while Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears each rushed for touchdowns. Titans quarterback Will Levis left the game in the first quarter due to a shoulder injury, leading to Mason Rudolph stepping in as his replacement.

Dolphins quarterback Tyler Huntley, filling in for the injured Tua Tagovailoa, scored on a one-yard run late in the game, ending Miami’s streak of ten consecutive quarters without a touchdown. The Titans are now third in the AFC South, while the Dolphins sit at the bottom of the AFC East with a 1-3 record.
