Lewis Hamilton has voiced his frustrations following a challenging weekend at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, where he could only manage a seventh-place finish after being struck by Carlos Sainz during the race.
The Mercedes team has been struggling throughout the 2023 season, with persistent issues, particularly tire degradation, limiting their performance.
Despite starting strong in qualifying, Hamilton was eliminated in Q2, finishing 11th. He expressed his frustration over the radio, admitting that he “couldn’t go faster,” signaling the ongoing struggles with the car’s pace.
Mercedes Team Principal Toto Wolff acknowledged the team’s difficulties, emphasizing that it wasn’t Hamilton’s fault, but rather a lack of consistent race pace. The focus is now on regrouping for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and building a better car for the 2024 season, where both Hamilton and his teammate George Russell are optimistic for a stronger performance.
