John Force, legendary NHRA drag racer, is set to return to the track this weekend to support his team after months recovering from a severe brain injury. Force was hospitalized following a crash on June 23rd at the Virginia Motorsports Park, where his car hit a concrete wall at 300 mph. Since then, he has been undergoing treatment for a traumatic brain injury (TBI) while contending with the cumulative effects of numerous high-impact crashes throughout his 50-year career, during which he earned 157 victories and 16 championships.

With his team in the hunt for the NHRA Mission Foods Funny Car championship, Force has received medical clearance to attend the 24th NHRA Nevada Nationals. “Vegas is close enough to home that Laurie [my wife] and I can drive over,” he said, expressing gratitude for his team, fans, and sponsors who supported him throughout his recovery. “I haven’t forgotten them. I’ve just been doing my rehab, trying to stay strong.”

This comeback marks an emotional moment for Force, not behind the wheel but back in the arena, demonstrating his resilience and commitment to the sport that has defined his Life.
