Daniel Ricciardo’s future in Formula 1 took an exciting turn recently as the popular Australian driver received an offer to join Red Bull’s main team in 2025, potentially replacing Sergio Perez. The 34-year-old Ricciardo, who is currently racing for AlphaTauri, has been linked to a Red Bull seat after a series of performances that reminded fans of his prime years with the team. With Perez’s form inconsistent in 2023, Red Bull team principal Christian Horner and advisor Helmut Marko have discussed various options for the future, including giving Ricciardo another chance at the main team.

Since rejoining AlphaTauri in 2023 following a stint as Red Bull’s reserve driver, Ricciardo has worked hard to reestablish his reputation, despite an injury setback that temporarily replaced him with reserve driver Liam Lawson. His return has shown flashes of skill, fueling speculation that he could be a strong partner for Max Verstappen if Red Bull chooses to make changes for 2025. The move would mark a return to the main team where Ricciardo enjoyed some of the best years of his career, including multiple race wins and podiums before leaving in 2018.

For now, Red Bull has confirmed Ricciardo for AlphaTauri in 2024, where he will continue working alongside Yuki Tsunoda. Meanwhile, Perez’s position remains under review as Red Bull evaluates its lineup options for 2025. Ricciardo’s comeback story, coupled with Red Bull’s willingness to reconsider its driver pairing, has made him a top candidate for the main team, generating excitement among fans and keeping speculation alive about the final lineup decisions for the 2025 season.
