Red Bull team DEMOTED after FIA confirmation…read more

Red Bull Racing experienced mixed fortunes at the Brazilian Grand Prix, where Max Verstappen secured a much-needed victory after months without a win. Despite Verstappen’s success on track, the FIA’s latest announcement about the 2024 Formula 1 standings confirmed a setback for Red Bull in the constructors’ race, capping off what has been a challenging season for the team.

Starting from a tough P17 due to qualifying struggles and an engine penalty, Verstappen’s journey to the front at Interlagos demonstrated his skill and determination. The 27-year-old fought his way through the field in spectacular fashion, ultimately crossing the finish line first and ending an eleven-race winless streak. On the podium, his rare display of emotion underscored the significance of this victory for both himself and his team, marking a potential turning point after a season marred by unexpected challenges.

Red Bull’s struggles this season have been uncharacteristic, and Verstappen’s triumph offered a welcome reprieve. However, despite this success, the FIA’s updated standings confirmed the team’s demotion, highlighting their ongoing challenges as the season nears its end. With this race in Brazil, Red Bull is hoping to find renewed momentum and keep a competitive edge as they tackle the final rounds.

In the drivers’ standings, Verstappen’s win has extended his lead over his closest rival, Lando Norris of McLaren, to a substantial 62 points. The gap has significantly dampened Norris’s title hopes and cast doubt on McLaren’s aspirations for a dual-title win in both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships. As the gap widens, McLaren’s dream of clinching both titles appears increasingly out of reach.

Charles Leclerc, currently sitting third in the standings, had a less favorable weekend in Brazil. Ferrari struggled to maintain pace, and Leclerc’s underwhelming result reflected those challenges. While Ferrari has shown improvement this season, the Interlagos race highlighted their remaining hurdles, and Leclerc’s slim title chances have now narrowed further.

For Red Bull, the Brazilian Grand Prix offered a positive moment in a season of ups and downs. With Verstappen’s strong showing, the team is hoping to build on this success in the remaining races, even as the revised standings reveal their struggle to maintain dominance. Moving forward, Red Bull will aim to capitalize on Verstappen’s form and find ways to stay competitive as they close out the season under pressure from rivals McLaren and Ferrari.
