Drake Milligan, former America’s Got Talent finalist, country singer, and actor, is no stranger to life on the road. Known for his Elvis Presley-like charisma and hits like “Sounds Like Something I’d Do,” Milligan has spent years building a name for himself in the competitive country music scene. However, one discovery has recently taken him by surprise—the massive country music fanbases he found in Europe and Australia.

“You’ll find country music fans pretty much everywhere in Europe,” says Milligan, who is premiering the music video for his single I Got a Problem exclusively with PEOPLE. Reflecting on a standout performance in Norway, he recalls headlining a major country music festival alongside Joe Nichols. “It was thousands of people, and most of the other performers were Norwegian, singing in Norwegian, but it was authentic country music. They really love the real thing. That blew me away.”

Milligan also discovered a similar passion for country music during his time in Australia. “I played a festival near Brisbane, and looking out at the crowd, you’d think you were in Texas. Cowboys and cowgirls everywhere, living and loving country music—it felt just like home.”

The Texas native has been on a whirlwind journey since placing third on America’s Got Talent in 2022. His song Honky Tonkin’ About topped Canada’s country music charts, and he performed on AGT’s Results Night in 2023. After wrapping up a year-long global tour, he’s ready for a well-deserved break.

“It’s been a wild year,” Milligan shares. “We’ve played so many shows around the world, and now I’m finally catching up on rest.” Despite the fatigue, Milligan’s international success proves that country music knows no borders.
