Bruce Cassidy Makes History as Vegas Golden Knights’ Winningest Coach

The Vegas Golden Knights secured a 3-1 victory over the Anaheim Ducks last night, boosting their record to 23-8-3 for the season. This win also extended their lead to five points over the Edmonton Oilers, solidifying their hold on first place in the Pacific Division.

In addition to the team’s success, former Boston Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy made history with this triumph, becoming the winningest coach in Golden Knights history. With a 119-59-20 record over 198 games as head coach, Cassidy has cemented his legacy in Vegas. His leadership also helped the Golden Knights secure their first-ever Stanley Cup title in 2023.

Cassidy’s remarkable success with Vegas comes after he was let go by the Bruins following the 2021-22 season. Despite this setback, Cassidy quickly found his stride with the Golden Knights. His tenure in Boston was also impressive, where he coached 399 games and earned a 245-108-46 record. During his time with the Bruins, Cassidy won the prestigious Jack Adams Award in 2020, awarded to the league’s best head coach.

Cassidy’s accomplishments in both Boston and Vegas showcase his remarkable coaching ability and resilience. His transition to the Golden Knights has proven to be a brilliant move, as he continues to guide the team toward further success in the NHL. As the season progresses, Cassidy’s historical milestone with Vegas highlights his growing legacy in the world of hockey.
