Glenn, who was greeted with a standing ovation at the Detroit Pistons’ game on Monday night, remains laser-focused on leading the Lions through the playoffs. The applause, which lasted nearly 30 seconds, highlighted the city’s appreciation for Glenn’s role in helping the Lions secure their first number-one seed in over three decades.
Glenn’s name has become one of the hottest in NFL coaching circles, with five teams currently seeking head coaches. Among the vacancies, the Patriots’ opening drew significant attention after the team abruptly fired Jerod Mayo following their latest game. The decision to part ways with Mayo sparked controversy, as many felt he performed admirably under challenging circumstances, including managing a rookie quarterback who missed the season opener. Nevertheless, Patriots owner Robert Kraft and the front office decided it was time for a change in leadership.
While Glenn opted out of interviewing with the Patriots, he remains in high demand. His leadership has been instrumental in transforming Detroit’s defense into a competitive unit, even amid injuries.
