NITTANY LIONS ROAR TO HISTORIC 10TH STRAIGHT BIG TEN TITLE; Cael Sanderson Named Coach of the Year for Record 11th Time

University Park, PA – The Penn State Nittany Lions wrestling team made history yet again, claiming their 10th consecutive Big Ten Championship title. This unprecedented achievement solidifies Penn State’s dominance in the conference and cements their status as a wrestling powerhouse.

Under the guidance of legendary head coach Cael Sanderson, the Nittany Lions accumulated 157.5 team points, outpacing second-place finisher Iowa by 24 points. Sanderson’s leadership earned him his record 11th Big Ten Coach of the Year award, further emphasizing his reputation as one of the greatest coaches in collegiate wrestling history.

The Nittany Lions’ championship performance was fueled by outstanding individual showings. Penn State boasted six individual champions, including Roman Bravo-Young (133 pounds), Nick Lee (141 pounds), and Aaron Brooks (184 pounds). These victories, combined with several other top-five finishes, propelled the team to their historic title.

“We’re incredibly proud of our team’s achievement,” said Coach Sanderson. “Our wrestlers demonstrated exceptional skill, determination, and teamwork throughout the tournament. This 10th consecutive title is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire program.”

With their 10th straight Big Ten title in hand, the Nittany Lions will now set their sights on the NCAA Championships, seeking their 9th national title in 12 years.
