A man identified as the “sergeant of arms” for the Vagos biker gang has been arrested on suspicion of various weapons offenses and possession of a destructive device, according to booking records.
Ulisses Navarette, 37, was arrested this week in Mojave and is being held on $305,000 bail, the records indicate.
According to sheriff’s officials, deputies received reports on June 14 of Vagos members harassing customers at a business in Tehachapi. When deputies searched Navarette’s home on Dawn Avenue, they found Vagos riding jackets on a couch near juveniles, one of which had a loaded gun in the pocket, according to a warrant filed by investigators.
Officials reported that investigators discovered another gun hidden in a motorcycle, along with a fully automatic machine gun and a 40mm launcher.
One of the riding jackets had a patch identifying Navarette as the gang’s sergeant of arms, a leadership role, according to the warrant. Navarette is scheduled for a court hearing on Friday in Mojave.
