GOOD NEWS!!;Two Tar Heels Selected for Walter Camp Preseason All-American Team.who is a genuine hybrid receiver?
Junior running back Omarion Hampton earned a spot on the first team, while junior tight end Bryson Nesbit was selected for the second team. Last season, Hampton was the fifth-leading rusher in Division I, with 1,504 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns. Nesbit ranked seventh among tight ends in receiving yards, accumulating 585 yards and 5 touchdowns, and could have ranked higher if quarterback Drake Maye hadn’t had two other top tight ends to target.
The starting quarterback for the upcoming fall season has not yet been announced. Rising sophomore Conner Harrell and transfer Max Johnson will continue to compete for the position this summer. However, whoever wins the spot will likely not match the talent level of Maye and Sam Howell, two of Carolina’s top quarterbacks in school history.
To support the new quarterback, having a powerhouse running back and a challenging tight end will be invaluable. Offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey can rely on the 6’0″, 220-pound workhorse to dominate defenses, allowing the quarterback to settle in without needing to force plays.
