At 9am today, Tuesday, July 22, Everton’s new Hill Dickinson Stadium opened the doors of the official Everton FC flagship store for the first time. The ECHO went down to take a look around the new club store – and by 11am the shop was buzzing with fans from across the city.
Speaking to some of its visitors, the excitement was clear to see. Everton FC fan Chris, 42, had brought his three young children to the store and he told the ECHO: “I think it’s brilliant and we couldn’t wait to come down as soon as we got the opportunity.”
Staff greeted visitors with smiles and a genuine sense of pride, with one worker, Lewis, saying: “I’ve been an Everton fan my whole life. To get the chance to work here at the new stadium is just unreal.”
Lewis also praised all the hard work that has gone into the store and how great it felt for him to see people enjoying it.
