Leicester City’s latest transfer target was once mentioned in the same breath as Lamine Yamal, he’s one to watch

Marti Cifuentes has his feet under the table as Leicester City manager and now the next steps will be to get players through the door.

Cifuentes is hoping to win fans over with his style of football and also bring some harmony back to the King Power Stadium.

Departures are expected and goalkeeper Mads Hermansen is wanted by West Ham United so could leave while Bilal El Khannouss is keen on a return to the Premier League.

The Foxes are one of the few clubs yet to make a signing but that could all change as a result of the latest rumours.

Leicester City transfer news: Matias Siltanen on Foxes’ radar

According to German outlet Sport.De, Leicester are one of the sides tracking Djurgarden midfielder Matias Siltanen.

The 18-year-old has begun to establish himself as a regular and is being monitored by a number of Bundesliga sides and clubs in England.

Leicester are one of those name-checked and as a defensive midfielder, could be the perfect replacement for Wilfried Ndidi if he heads to the Bundesliga.

His talent is undeniable, as proved by the esteemed company he has been around.

Mathias Siltanen was named as one of football’s future stars

In 2024, The Guardian published a list of 60 players that were deemed to be the ‘next generation’.

The list featured Lamine Yamal, who is already a world beater, as well as the likes of Franco Mastantuono and Pau Cubarsi.

Siltanen was also a feature with the publication describing him as someone who “builds play from deep, roams forward when possible and reads the game with a maturity that belies his tender age.”

If the Foxes can bring him to the Championship, it could be a great bit of business.
