Earlier this month there were reports Burnley and Leicester City are showing interest in the former Liverpool and Arsenal attacking midfielder, due his situation with the Super Lig side.
Milliyet report the 32-year-old has demanded €2.5m compensation to cut short his stay in Istanbul. Besiktas are keen to get the player off their wage bill and need to reduce the number of foreigners they have in their squad.
The Black Eagles are ready to give him €1.5m to rip up his current deal. If the midfielder doesn’t accept their offer, then there’s a possibility he will be omitted from the squad going into the next campaign.
At the start of July, there claims Burnley and Leicester City were monitoring the player as Besiktas looked to terminate his contract. In the past 12 months there’s been reports of a return to England and he’s also been linked with Sheffield United in previous windows, although that now looks unlikely.
Oxlade-Chamberlain made 20 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring one goal. He’s contracted to Besiktas until June 2026.
