JUST IN:Detroit Lions star says team is poised to meet ‘well-deserved hype

The Detroit Lions are coming off one of the best seasons in franchise history, reaching the NFC Championship Game before losing to the San Francisco 49ers. The defeat was particularly heartbreaking as the Lions had a substantial halftime lead but ultimately lost, placing them just 30 minutes from a Super Bowl appearance.

Following such a season, the Lions are surrounded by significant hype and have realistic Super Bowl aspirations as they head into the 2024 campaign, where they are projected to be one of the top teams in the league.

Aidan Hutchinson, the Lions’ standout pass-rusher, is aware of the high expectations and believes they are justified. He feels the team is well-prepared to meet them.

“It’s unreal. There’s a lot of hype coming into this year, but I think it’s well-deserved hype,” Hutchinson told ESPN’s Eric Woodyard. “I think a lot more guys on our team understand what this year is, and we understand what we got and we’re all ready.”

Despite their focus on this season, Hutchinson sees the potential for sustained success over multiple years.

“I think everyone has put everything into this upcoming year, and I feel like for the years to come as well, because it’s not our last year we’re all playing,” Hutchinson said. “There’s a lot of great players on this team, and I think we could just have repeated success over the next few years.”

Hutchinson’s assessment is spot on. The team not only has a strong group of veterans to lead in the short term, but also a wealth of talented young players who can ensure the franchise’s success for years to come.
