Xhaka’s transfer to Sunderland in great doubt, German media brings details
A deal between Bayer Leverkusen and Sunderland for Granit Xhaka is currently considered highly unlikely, according to BILD.
Xhaka has made it clear to the German club’s leaders that he will remain 100% committed to Leverkusen if the deal falls through.
According to reports, Sunderland have offered Xhaka an annual salary of 10 million euros, while he currently earns 7 million euros, but the newly promoted club in the Premier League has set a maximum budget.
Leverkusen have understood that there will be no significant increase to the initial offer of around 10 million euros.
Sunderland’s valuation of the Swiss midfielder is far from Leverkusen’s €20 million request.
