Celtic defender Adam Montgomery has joined Livingston on loan for the 2025/26 season.
The 23-year-old has made the move to the Scottish Premiership newcomers, who were promoted last season via the play-offs, beating Ross County in the process.
Having failed to break into the first team since his initial exposure to senior football, the left-back has gone out on loan to gain more first-team experience. Livingston broke the news on their online platforms. Their post said “Montgomery joins.”
“We’re delighted to welcome Adam Montgomery, who joins the Lions on loan from Celtic for the 2025/26 campaign. Welcome to West Lothian, Adam!
Confirming the move, Celtic quoted Livingston’s post on their own social media platforms: “Adam Montgomery has joined Livingston on loan. Good luck, Adam,” alongside a clover emoji.
The former Scotland U21 international has made 20 appearances for Celtic so far, since making his debut in 2021 against St Johnstone, a team he would later join on loan in 2022.
Montgomery spent the second half of last season on loan at Queen’s Park, where he made 14 appearances in all competitions for the Scottish Championship side.
