TBR Football can exclusively confirm that Manchester City have made a fresh approach for Newcastle United defender Tino Livramento.
The Citizens have strengthened their ranks considerably this summer, but they could still do with a new right-back.
Kyle Walker has left Manchester City to join Burnley, while Matheus Nunes has played as an auxiliary right-back but is a midfielder by trade.
TBR Football can confirm how much City are now willing to bid for Livramento, and who they may target if they don’t convince Newcastle to sell him.
Manchester City willing to bid in excess of £50million for Tino Livramento
TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey understands that City have made a fresh move for Tino Livramento.
However, Newcastle remain intent on not allowing their England defensive star to leave this summer.
The Citizens remain in the market for a new right-back and Livramento sits atop their list of targets.
Man City made contact with Newcastle in June, suggesting they would be ready to pay £40million.
Now, we are told that City would be willing to pay in excess of £50million for Livramento, who Kyle Walker recently said “looks like a great player”.
However, Newcastle have approached Livramento’s camp with a view to extending his stay and increasing his wages to make him one of the club’s higher earners.
The 22-year-old, who was one of England’s stars at this summer’s European Under-21 finals, still has three years left on his current deal at St James’ Park.
Juventus duo also in Manchester City’s sights
City remain interested in Juventus pair Andrea Cambiaso and Nicolo Savona should they fail to prise Livramento away from Newcastle.
Ironically, Newcastle also have an interest in Savona, who can play right-back or in central defence.
TBR Football can confirm that City were also offered Denzel Dumfries earlier in the summer but opted not to make a move – despite talks.
Dumfries had a near £20million release clause that expired in mid-July.
In addition, we understand City have allowed Manuel Akanji to discuss a possible move to Turkish giants Fenerbahce.
