Manchester United keen on selling Alejandro Garnacho this month

According to a report from Give Me Sport, Manchester United are working hard to find a new club for Alejandro Garnacho. The Red Devils want to cash in on him this month, as his departure could fund an important signing for Ruben Amorim’s team.

Garnacho joined the Manchester United youth setup back in 2020 from Atletico Madrid. The youngster went up the ranks and got promoted to the first team in the summer of 2022, and he has not looked back since.

While he has an impressive rise at Old Trafford, things have only gone downhill for him since the arrival of Ruben Amorim. Initially, the Manchester United manager was not pleased with his efforts in training, and he was left out of the squad for a few fixtures.

Towards the end of the 2024/25 season, things went from bad to worse as he was benched in the final of the Europa League. It led to a public fall-out between the manager and the player. Amorim no longer has Alejandro Garnacho in his plans and has asked him to find a new club.

Manchester United have already made some significant additions to their attack as they have signed Matheus Cunha from Wolves and Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford. However, they are still in the market for a proven striker at the request of their manager.

But before they can focus on signing a new number nine, the Manchester-based club needs to raise funds. As a result, the focus is on outings. The Red Devils have offloaded Marcus Rashford and are now pushing to find a buyer for Garnacho.

Manchester United are pushing to sell Garnacho

While several clubs from across Europe want Alejandro Garnacho, the Argentine winger, who is valued at around £60 million, is keen on continuing in the Premier League, which makes a potential transfer very difficult. In England, Aston Villa, Chelsea and Tottenham hold an interest in the 21-year-old.

Unai Emery wants more firepower on the flanks amidst uncertainty around Leon Bailey’s future. While Chelsea have signed Jamie Gittens, they still want more depth out wide, and Garnacho is an ideal fit for their project.

Meanwhile, Spurs are also looking to freshen things up on the flanks, and Garnacho could end up being an ideal long-term replacement for their skipper, Son Heung-min. While all three clubs are interested in his services, they are yet to make a formal offer.

His departure is a top priority for the club. They have held private talks in recent days and are pushing the player to make a decision on his future. Since he is considered an academy graduate, the youngster’s sale will be a massive boost for PSR and will help them move freely in their pursuit of a new striker.
