It’s a summer of upheaval for Stoke City, which is not ideal given they only just escaped relegation last term. Now, it seems the Potters have landed a new signing to replace Wouter Burger.
Mark Robins joined Stoke City halfway through the 2024/25 campaign, and just about completed the task at hand, which was to secure the Potters’ second flight status.
Obviously, expectations are higher going into the new season, but Robins is not being helped by the fact that Stoke are losing two of their best players.
While Sol Sidibe looks bound for PSV, key midfielder Wouter Burger has moved to Hoffenheim. Both transfers are at criminally low fees, too, but there is one glimmer of hope.

Stoke City reach agreement with Lamine Camara
That’s because a new Stoke City signing could be through the door very soon, with Senegalese youngster Lamine Camara set for a move to the bet365 Stadium.
That’s according to African football journalist Micky Jnr, who claims Stoke have offered a four-year contract to the 22-year-old RS Berkane starlet.
It is said an agreement has already been reached between the two clubs and the decision now falls to Camara himself.
The central midfielder has been plying his trade in the Moroccan league for the last four years after leaving his native Senegal, and has represented his country at international level.
It is not known what the fee for Camara will be, but Micky Jnr describes the player as a ‘top talent’ who has won trophies at both club and international level.

Mark Robins has a huge task on his hands for 2025/26
Stoke really struggled last season, and even Robins’ arrival didn’t turn things around dramatically, really. They ended up in 18th place in the Championship table last term, just two points above the drop zone.
With key players departing and no real signs of quality coming in the other way, Stoke fans must surely be worried for the season ahead.
Our early prediction for the 2025/26 Championship campaign didn’t pin Stoke down for much trouble, but things have changed since then.
The club will need to make some shrewd signings in the next few weeks if they are to avoid trouble, but it could well be another long season for Potters fans.
