Rangers are hopeful of securing a season-long loan deal for Spurs hit-kid Mikey Moore.

The Ibrox club want the teenage winger, with gaffer Russell Martin and sporting director Kevin Thelwell keen to get it done.

Record Sport understands there’s still work to do as they look to capture the 17-year-old, as they’ve yet to get a green light from Tottenham gaffer Thomas Frank to let Moore go.

The wide player – who became Spurs’ youngest ever Premier League player a year ago – is rated as one of the UK’s best talents.

But Rangers believe they’re in pole position to land Moore on loan and strengthen Martin’s squad ahead of their Scottish Premiership opener against Motherwell on Saturday.

As they prepare for Wednesday night’s Champions League qualifying second-leg against Panathinaikos in Athens, the manager is looking to add to his squad.
