Aston Villa fans may want to prepare themselves for more Óscar Mingueza transfer stories, as he’s yet to sign a new deal at Celta Vigo.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who report that the defender’s future continues to be uncertain as no new deal has been agreed.
They explain that despite Mingueza having once been ‘almost certain’ to join Aston Villa, then changing that stance and being close to extending his stay in Vigo, his situation has not changed
Reliable sources have informed them that there is no contract extension in pace as yet and his departure from the Spanish side is more than possible.
There’s no mention of Aston Villa directly at this point but several clubs in Italy, France and the Premier League have been gathering information on the defender. He, for his part, is said to be focused on playing for Celta and not paying attention to the rumours. He isn’t, however, focused enough to sign a new contract it seems.
And given the numerous Aston Villa reports, we wouldn’t be surprised if they’re back to being linked again before too long.
