TBR Football can confirm that Yoane Wissa has told Brentford that he does not want to play for the club again and is refusing to train with the club.

Newcastle have seen one Wissa bid rejected, but during talks, we are told that they have been told that his valuation is close to £50million.

The North East giants believe that is some way above where they want to be, and they have now backed away from the Wissa deal.

Newcastle will keep monitoring the situation, but have pulled away from talks – likewise, the likes of Tottenham and Nottingham Forest, who have both held talks, have no intention of meeting Brentford’s valuation.

Graeme Bailey, Chief Correspondent at TBR Football, has been told that Brentford are demanding £50m for Wissa amid the striker’s fury.

“Brentford are demanding, from what I am told, £50million and they are not altering their stance,” Bailey begins.

“Newcastle have pushed hard over this weekend, but they have now walked away as of Sunday morning – they are no longer in talks.

“Wissa made it clear to Brentford on Friday that he was not going to train with the club, and he has made it clear to the club’s sporting director Phil Giles that he won’t play for the club again.

“This is getting messy, but Brentford are staying calm. New boss Keith Andrews really wants to keep him, so let’s see how this plays out, but Wissa is furious.”

Brentford aren’t having the best transfer window. First, Thomas Frank leaves for Tottenham, then they lose their club captain, Christian Norgaard to Arsenal.
